SQUARESPACE WEBSITE DESIGN SERVICES
Professionalism That Doesnβt Sacrifice Personality
Imagineβ¦ A website that actually works for you π€―
Itβs our duty as business owners to have easy-to-use websites that communicate clearly and are accessible to all users.
Itβs my duty as your web designer to make sure your site is easy for both you AND your clients to use.
Squarespace is flexible, convenient, and easy for you to update yourself.
A Design Process Thatβs All About β¨YOUβ¨
Your site will be unique to your needs.
Sure, some steps in my web design process are necessary for all websites, but each of my packages are customizable. Right from our first call, weβll figure out why your website isnβt working β and what we can do to turn it around.
I like to meet you where youβre at.
Not only will your website package be unique, but our working relationship will also be catered to you. I adjust my working style for each client to make sure the experience is tailored to your preferences, your level of tech literacy, and what you need for your business.
You deserve to be able to update your own website.
Iβve built my web design process to provide everything you need to update this baby yourself. Of course, Iβm always available to help if you need me, but you wonβt need me to fix a typo, swap a photo, add more content β youβll be totally confident doing that yourself!
βRachel makes the complicated seem approachable. Rachel guided us the entire time and we knew exactly what to expect.β

All The Deets

All The Deets β¨
Most Websites Include:
-
Most clients start with Home, About, Contact, Services, and Press. We can always add more pages if you need them. Not sure what you need? Donβt fret! We'll figure out the specific pages your site needs during our Prep Phase.
-
I design for laptops first, then tweak the entire site on mobile and redesign where needed. Iβll test on my devices and youβll test on yours before we launch.
-
Some other fun things we do: create a customized browser icon, advise on domain & hosting purchase and configuration, add your social media links, pull all indexed pages from your original site, set redirects to your new website, and help configure Google Workspace for your domain.
-
All of my projects start with a Prep Phase, which figures out your site map and illuminates what content you *actually* need for your site. Iβll nail down key messages for each page then organize everything with a handy dandy website content template doc. This doc will guide your website copywriting process β whether you choose to write it yourself or work with one of our copywriting partners.
-
If you have brand photos, Iβll use those (duh). If not, Iβll curate stock photos, icons, and videos for your site β editing wherever possible to match your brandβs needs and general web design best practices.
-
Using content that makes sense for your website and audience, Iβll create clear and concise page URLs, plus SEO titles and meta descriptions for each page. I also add alt text, optimize your file names, and resize all images on your website β all best practices that please the SEO bots. If you want a more data-driven and keyword-focused strategy, Iβll pull in an SEO expert to help us meet your goals.
-
Itβs important that your website is accessible to everyone and we do our best to design for all audiences. After your whole site is built, I do an initial scan and make sure to fix all color contrast errors. While building your site, I follow all the best practices regarding alt tags on images, heading hierarchy, informative button text, etc while building the site. I do my best to make sure all audiences can use your site.
-
Iβll guide you through my detailed web design process from kick-off to launch, navigating feedback loops and approval processes along the way. I always prep a meeting agenda, but weβll definitely chat about non-work stuff too (Iβm an extrovert, after all ππΌββοΈ). At the very least, our project will have the following check-in meetings: 90-min Preliminary Working session, 1-hour Mood Board Review, three 1-hour web design check-ins, and our 1-hour ββSquarespace Training Session (more on that below).
-
One more time for the people in the back: You deserve to be able to update your own website! Of course, Iβm always available to help if you need me β but my entire workflow is designed to empower you to maintain this baby all on your own. Our project wraps with a Squarespace training session to review everything you need to know for updating your own website in the future.
